Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi Participates in Multilateral Meeting to Discuss Empowering Countries in Space Sector
Davos: Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of UAE Space Agency, participated in a multilateral meeting entitled ‘Space: Leaving No Country Behind’, on the sidelines of the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. Held under the slogan ‘Collaboration in an Intelligent Age’, WEF runs from 20th to 24th January.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Falasi emphasized the crucial role of the space sector in driving global progress and sustainable development. He highlighted the importance of inclusiveness and integration, underscoring the commitment to ensuring all countries can participate in the sector. Al Falasi expressed the opportunity to foster international partnerships in space exploration to build a sustainable future for all.
Al Falasi reiterated the UAE’s commitment to cooperation and knowledge exchange as pathways to achieving comprehensive development goals. He pledged to share UAE’s experiences and expertise with emerging countries in the space sector to enhance their capacities and leverage space potential for their development plans.
The UAE’s high-level delegation, led by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, includes over 100 heads of companies and government officials. The meeting featured prominent figures such as Josef Aschbacher from the European Space Agency, Mohammed Altamimi from Saudi Space Agency, and many others in the field of space and technology.
Discussions aimed to strengthen cooperation among local space entities, develop effective space strategies, and support emerging space entities through initiatives like the National Space Program Toolkit. The meeting also explored maximizing economic and technological benefits from space activities through cost-effective applications.
The UAE’s participation at WEF spans a range of topics including economy, foreign trade, investment, and technology. The UAE’s special pavilion at the forum, under the slogan ‘Nothing is Impossible’, underscores its dedication to this significant global platform, drawing participation from officials, major local companies, and international experts.
