Al Awar Highlights Emiratisation Achievements During Majid Al Futtaim Visit
DUBAI: Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, underscored the progress of Emiratisation initiatives during a visit to Majid Al Futtaim Group, where he met with UAE citizens employed by the company. The visit highlighted the private sector’s commitment to integrating Emirati talent into the workforce, a move aligned with national policies.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Awar, accompanied by ministry officials, attended a ceremony organized by Majid Al Futtaim Group to celebrate its achievements in Emiratisation. Key figures at the event included Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Mariam Majid Al Futtaim, a shareholder and representative of the company’s shareholders.
During the event, Al Awar emphasized the private sector’s dedication to Emiratisation policies, noting that partnerships with the government have facilitated employment for over 120,000 Emiratis across more than 23,000 co
mpanies. He praised Majid Al Futtaim Group’s efforts in reflecting a strong sense of social responsibility and supporting government strategies to enhance the competitiveness of UAE citizens in the labor market.
Al Awar also commended the contributions of Emirati employees at Majid Al Futtaim, affirming that the UAE leadership closely monitors Emiratisation efforts and continuously issues directives to empower and stabilize citizens in their jobs. He highlighted the support provided by the Nafis programme, which aims to create an innovation-friendly work environment and offers benefits to companies engaging with Emiratisation policies.
Ahmed Galal Ismail reiterated the company’s commitment to the UAE leadership’s vision, noting the strategic plans in place to provide job opportunities for Emiratis. He pointed out the effective partnership with the Nafis programme, which has seen the company’s Emiratisation rate rise from 3 percent in 2021 to 13.7 percent.
