BOU HABIB READS OUT VOTER TURNOUT IN SOME COUNTRIES: 55% IN AUSTRALIA, 44.61% IN THE UAE, 20% IN EUROPE, 13% IN AFRICA
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, read out this afternoon the voting turnout percentages of Lebanese expatriates in some countries, as follows:
Australia:
– Overall turnout reached 55%
– Total number of registered voters is 20,661, out of which 11,321 or 54.83% casted their votes, with 54.83% voters in Sydney and the lowest turnout in Canberra with 40%, while Melbourne recorded 55%
United Arab Emirates:
– Overall turnout reached 44.61%
Dubai – 3,289 voters until 3:30 p.m. (42%)
Abu Dhabi – 2,893 voters (56% – a very large percentage)
Europe:
– Overall turnout reached 20%
– Total number of registered voters is 70,000, out of which 14,000 or 20% have casted their votes so far, as per below:
France – 4,232 voters
Germany – 3,480 voters
Britain & Northern Ireland – 1,288 voters
Remaining European countries – 1,000 voters
As for the African continent, Minister Bou Habib indicated that “the voter turnout is not high so far, as the total rate has reached 13%.”
