Dubai International Chamber Expands Global Reach with New Office in Colombia


BOGOTÁ: Dubai International Chamber has inaugurated a representative office in Bogotá, Colombia, in a strategic move to bolster economic relations and enhance trade and investment ties between Dubai and Colombia. This new establishment marks an expansion of the chamber’s international network, bringing the number of its global offices to 33.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Bogotá office is part of the ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which aims to establish 50 representative offices worldwide by 2030. This initiative is designed to reinforce Dubai’s role as a global business hub by attracting foreign direct investment and supporting the international expansion of Dubai-based companies into 30 priority markets.

The office’s opening comes at a time of growing economic ties between Dubai and Colombia, with the value of non-oil trade between the two markets reaching AED1.9 billion in 2023, marking a significant increase of over 51 percent compared to the previous year. Currently, 131 Colombian companies are ac
tive members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of the new office, stating, “We are committed to expanding our global network of offices to enhance Dubai’s trade and investment ties internationally and consolidate its position as a leading business destination across all sectors. Our goal is to attract foreign direct investment to Dubai and support the efforts of companies operating in the emirate to expand into promising global markets. Latin American markets represent key opportunities and hold significant potential for strengthening bilateral trade and investments.”

The Bogotá office is expected to support businesses in both markets, facilitate collaboration with the Colombian business community, and build partnerships with key stakeholders in public and private sectors. It will also provide market insights and connect Dubai-based businesses with potential partners to assist their entry into the Colombian market.
