DUBAI: A Dubai Police delegation visited Visa’s Data and Cyber Fusion Centres in the United States to enhance collaboration and exchange expertise, including global best practices in combating financial crimes and fraud.
Neil Fernandes, Visa’s Vice President and Head of Risk for MENA, remarked, “The visit of the Dubai Police delegation presents a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, which will enhance our joint efforts to combat financial crimes. Our partnership with Dubai Police underscores our strong commitment to ensuring the security of electronic payment systems.”
Brigadier Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations at Dubai Police, stated, “Our partnership with Visa is critical in our ongoing efforts to combat economic crimes. We value the exceptional opportunity to learn, explore global expertise, and collaborate on effective strategies for protecting our communities.”
Dubai Police and Visa signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier
this year to strengthen collaboration and coordination and build advanced partnerships with banks and financial institutions to facilitate information exchange and enhance efforts against fraud and economic crimes, thus achieving common strategic goals.
The MoU includes enhancing cooperation to facilitate the exchange of information related to economic and financial crimes and new criminal methods, as well as exchanging knowledge and expertise in economic and financial crimes to improve the efficiency and awareness of employees from both parties and contribute to the detection of complex plans of economic crimes.
