DUBAI: Ambassador Raouf Saad, Advisor to the Negotiating Delegation of the Arab Republic of Egypt for the COP28 Climate Conference, has highlighted the close cooperation between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates as a key factor in the successful transition from COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh to the ongoing COP28 in Dubai.
“The smooth transition from COP27 to COP28 is a testament to the strong partnership and concerted efforts between our two brotherly nations,” stated Ambassador Saad in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the COP28 meetings.
He emphasised the global threat posed by climate change and underscored the critical role of financial support for developing countries. “Climate change affects all of us, and for developing countries, access to funding is essential for addressing this critical challenge,” he said, urging developed nations to “step up their efforts and provide more global initiatives to save our planet.”
