Fujairah: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Fujairah Government entities and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) at his office in Emiri Diwan in Fujairah. The agreement aims to advance space technology projects in the Emirate of Fujairah and across the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed by several key figures, including Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director General of MBRSC; Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Director-General of Fujairah Municipality; Eng. Hassan Al Yamahi, Director General of Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality; Eng. Ali Qasim, Director General of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation; and Dr. Ahmed Almurshidi, General Director of Fujairah GIS Centre. The initiative focuses on fostering collaboration to promote innovation and leadership in space and technology, as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fuja
irah.
The agreement will facilitate services and activities such as the application of remote sensing technologies and artificial intelligence to support environmentally focused projects in Fujairah. It will provide satellite imagery for infrastructure monitoring and project tracking, in addition to conducting research and scientific studies promoting environmental sustainability.
The initiative aims to support various departments of Fujairah Government, including Fujairah Municipality, Fujairah Civil Defence, and others like Fujairah GIS Centre, Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, and the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, enhancing their roles in finance, human resources, tourism, and antiquities.
Salem Humaid AlMarri expressed gratitude for the support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, emphasizing that the agreement aligns with MBRSC’s strategy to expand cooperation with local and international partners through space technology. He highlighted the importance of collaboration among government bodies in r
ealizing the UAE’s vision for sustainability and technological advancement.
Mohammed Saif Al Afkham remarked that the partnership would create new opportunities in space exploration and technology development, facilitating knowledge exchange and elevating innovation in the emirate. The agreement includes data sharing and exploring technical collaboration opportunities to achieve shared goals.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of H.H. the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
