DUBAI: The Government Experience Exchange Office of the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs has organised a meeting that brought together Rui Costa, Brazil’s Chief of Staff of the Presidency, with participants in the second Global Government Leaders Programme (GGLP), organised in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD).
The meeting took place during Costa’s visit to the UAE with a Brazilian government delegation. The visit culminated in a strategic partnership agreement between the UAE and Brazilian governments, focused on modernising government leadership. This agreement, part of the Government Knowledge Exchange Programme, underscores the UAE’s commitment to expanding global partnerships and international cooperation to share expertise and best practices for enhanced government performance.

During his engagement with the second cohort of GGLP, Costa discussed key international trends in government leadership and shared successful case studies of enhanced government performance.
Costa commended the UAE’s pioneering approach to government development, praising its commitment to sharing best practices and innovative models globally. He highlighted GGLP as an inspiring UAE initiative that cultivates adaptable and effective government leaders worldwide by enhancing their leadership and management skills. This, he noted, contributes directly to improved government efficiency and fosters a culture of innovation.
He emphasised the programme’s vital role in facilitating knowledge exchange and networking among participants, ultimately contributing to a better future and enhanced global governance. He encouraged participants to fully utilise this unique opportunity provided by the UAE to forge impactful partnerships that strengthen international cooperation, address future
challenges, and develop innovative government strategies.
The Global Government Leaders Programme empowers first- and second-tier government leaders from participating countries with the goal of enhancing their leadership and management skills. Through a series of field visits, the programme introduces them to project management approaches and best practices, providing insights they could apply to improve government performance in their own countries.
