Shakhboot bin Nahyan Heads UAE Delegation at African Energy Summit in Tanzania
Dar es Salaam: On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, headed the UAE delegation participating in the African Heads of State Energy Summit in the capital of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit was held under the theme, ‘Lighting Africa: The Transformative Power of Mission 300,’ and was organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank, in cooperation with the African Union. The event aims to advance the ‘Mission 300’ initiative, which seeks to provide energy to 300 million people in Africa by 2030. This initiative is crucial in addressing the energy crisis affecting approximately 600 million people across the continent.
This year’s edition of the summit included several sessions and workshops featuring heads of state, ministers, regional and international banks, and global partners. The discussions focused on necessary solutions to achieve safe and reliable access to energy.
On the sidelines of the summit, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan engaged in bilateral meetings with influential African leaders, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania; President Dr. William Samoei Ruto of Kenya; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria; and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia.
The UAE’s participation in the summit underscores the country’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and partnerships. It highlights efforts to achieve sustainable development goals and expand energy access across the African continent.
