Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the graduation ceremony of the Sharjah Police Science Academy, celebrating the second cohort of PhD students and the sixth cohort of master’s students. The graduates specialized in areas such as Police Administration, Criminal Investigation, and Quality and Excellence in Security Work.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony took place at the academy’s theatre, commencing with the UAE national anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. A video presentation showcased the experiences of graduates from the master’s and PhD programmes, highlighting the advanced academic standards at the academy and the support they received throughout their academic journey.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy, expressed his joy in celebrating the graduates, emphasizing the significance of the event. He extended gratitude to His Highnes
s for his ongoing commitment to the academy, which plays a crucial role in preparing postgraduate and bachelor’s students, as well as police personnel, to meet both local and global security needs.
Al Othmani highlighted the academy’s efforts to solidify its status as a leading institution in security and police studies. Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the academy has strengthened its partnerships with universities to advance cybersecurity concepts and integrate technical and security aspects into its curriculum.
The Director-General reiterated the academy’s commitment to developing its programmes and curricula to produce highly skilled professionals capable of serving their communities and nation. He noted the introduction of specialized academic tracks to address operational and administrative needs, such as Distinguished Leadership and Combating Cybercrime. The academy also boasts a strong record in attracting qualified Emirati lecturers and securing internatio
nal accreditations, enhancing its global educational standards.
Al Othmani announced the admission of the first cohort of students for the PhD programme in Quality and Excellence in Security Work for the upcoming academic semester. He concluded by congratulating the graduates and encouraging them to contribute to the nation’s security and development.
Representing his fellow graduates, Dr Abdullah Mohammed Al Naqbi delivered a speech expressing their gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his support and facilitation of higher education opportunities. He emphasized the pivotal role of the academy’s professors in their academic achievements and extended thanks to the academy’s leadership and staff.
The ceremony concluded with Sheikh Sultan presenting certificates to the graduates and posing for commemorative photos. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi and Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, alongside members of the Acad
emy Council and families of the graduates.
